INFORMATION – The force of YAAF will be to communicate to the authorities about the issues and challenges we face on the ground with our clients, providing them with real practical information and ultimately making cruising in France a clear and straight forward experience for Captains. The members of the YAFF will be informed of the latest changes in regulations and navigation, given that the YAFF aims at becoming the preferred point of communication for the authorities.
DISCUSSION – YAAF is different from other yachting industry associations. We are agents, and as such, we are hands on, efficient and fast to tackle issues. Joining YAAF will help you be heard and give you an easy possibility to discuss with other professional that also evolve in the same world.
Each company member of the YAAF commits to comply with the following good practice rules:
Transparency: the supplier invoice is readily available for any client wishing to see the original expense
Attitude and way of conducting business: reliable, honest, answering in a timely manner all requests, services done with the highest standards
Invoicing: the invoices are sent in a timely manner, at the end of the charter when requested or before the end of the month
Insurance: the agencies, and all suppliers recommended by the agencies have a professional indemnity insurance and have been carefully vetted before being sent to the yacht
Language: agents speak fluently English and French
Numbers of years in business: each agency has been in the yachting business in France for at least 5 years
Legal: the agents are French VAT registered
Safety/security: the agents are able to inform and perform the correct immigration and customs
Logistics: all agents have physical offices, and can receive packages
Knowledge: all agency staff have specific training on navigation, maritime laws, immigration and taxes
Clients Data Protection: Non-disclosure and confidentiality regarding all operations with yachts
Commission: refuse to pay in any manner commissions to clients, crew or other employees of the yacht
